CLASSICAL GUITARIST, TIM OLBRYCH TO PERFORM WITH PRINCE WILLIAM BAROQUE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2008 AT 7:00 P.M. AT THE MANASSAS

Manassas, VA—October 29, 2008— Prince William Baroque, an early music ensemble sponsored by the Prince William Symphony and the Manassas Museum, presents the first of three historical concerts this season at the Manassas Museum on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for seniors. Space is limited to 50. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 703-659-0103 or by ordering via the website at www.pwso.org. Currently, tickets may still be purchased for the series (all three concerts).
Classical guitarist, Tim Olbrych, will be the featured soloist and will be accompanied on part of the program by the strings from Prince William Baroque. Works by Vivaldi and Boccherini as well as solo guitar delights will be performed.
Tim Olbrych , a member of the faculty of the College of William and Mary, has performed throughout the Central and Eastern United States in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings, including Merkin Hall, Club A, and Club 54 in N.Y.C., and has been a featured performer on both radio and television. He has shared his enthusiasm for and expertise about the Early guitar with students and audiences through concerts and lecture recitals in both historical and university settings. His local ensemble work includes performances with the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, The Virginia Opera, The Norfolk Chamber Consort, CREO, and The Shanghai Quartet Mr. Olbrych has also performed on a wide variety of fretted instruments including banjo, mandolin, electric guitar, bass, and ukulele for touring Broadway shows, opera, ballet, and symphony programs.

The concert will be followed by a reception giving audience members a chance to speak with Mr. Olbrych as well as the musicians and Music Director. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 seniors. The remaining concerts for this series are on Sunday, February 22, 2009 and Sunday March 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Manassas Museum. February’s concert will explore the works of Franz Joseph Haydn, “Father of the String Quartet”. March’s concert will feature famous chamber classics by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Prince William Baroque is a historically-oriented ensemble offering music of the baroque, gallant and early classical periods. The ensemble was founded in 2004 as the Manassas Bach Orchestra by conductor and harpsichordist David Montgomery, who is also the Music Director of the Prince William Symphony Orchestra.
